Reorganisation of the DTT LCN Listing and changes to Digital UK's LCN Policy - 18 October 2016

Digital UK has published a consultation on proposals to expand the Freeview TV guide and update its policy for allocating channel numbers (LCNs). The proposals are designed to:

- Ensure channel genres have the capacity to accommodate new services, following strong demand from broadcasters.
- Simplify Digital UK's LCN policy and provide greater flexibility for channel providers.
- Provide additional consumer protection measures to further minimise risks around minors viewing inappropriate content.

We welcome responses from all stakeholders in the DTT platform including channel providers, multiplex operators, consumer groups and viewers and listeners.

Consultation on the allocation of LCN 7 - 16 Dec 2015

Digital UK has published a consultation on options for the allocation of Logical Channel Number (LCN) 7 in the Freeview programme guide, following confirmation of the BBC's plans to transition BBC Three to an online service.

Consultation on reserving content genre LCNs for HD-only services - 16 Dec 2015

Digital UK has published a consultation on the reservation of channel numbers in the General Entertainment and News genres for HD-only services. This is designed to make it easier to implement a possible substitution of SD and HD channels in the future.
