If you live on the edge of the core TV region (shown in dark pink on the map) you may be part of an adjacent region's switchover. This map is indicative because broadcast signals do not have precise boundaries.

BBC buses will also be touring the Border region until March 2008 helping to answer any questions and give information on the digital switchover process. For areas and dates please see our community page.
Why Border first?
Switchover is a complicated process, and needs to be done in stages so that everyone in the country will be ready for it. The Border TV region was chosen to go first as it has very little signal interference with other countries, such as France, who are also switching over to digital. It’s a great opportunity for all the people in the Border TV region to receive the benefits before anyone else.
What are the benefits?
Currently just over half of all households in the Border region can get digital reception through their aerial. After switchover almost everyone will be able to enjoy the benefits of digital TV.
