Skriaig Transmitter Group

The Skriaig transmitter and its 17 relays, serving Skye, Harris, North Uist, Benbecula, South Uist and parts of Barra, completed the digital switchover on 14 July 2010 and 28 July 2010

Digital switchover (DSO) complete at Skriaig transmitter group

The Skriaig transmitter and its 17 relays serving Skye, Harris, North Uist,Benbecula, South Uist and parts of Barra made the switch in two stages:

At Stage 1 (DSO1) - 14 July 2010 
BBC Two analogue ceased broadcasting permanently and the first BBC multiplex, Mux BBC A, launched at 8k and 64QAM.

At Stage 2 (DSO2) - 28 July 2010
All other analogue and DTT services ceased broadcasting permanently and high powered digital multiplexes launched at 8k and 64QAM.

At Skriaig, all muxes will be within the analogue aerial group A;

At all relays, all muxes remain within the analogue aerial group;

Aerials, communal systems

Channel changes at Tarbert Harris mean that channelised aerial systems will need to be reconfigured at DSO2.

Adjacent transmitter groups

A household in Skye, Harris, North Uist, Benbecula, South Uist or parts of Barra is most likely to be watching the Skriaig transmitter group. However, they could also be watching the Eitshal transmitter group.
