Who is responsible for ensuring that barracks are ready for switchover?
The Ministry of Defence has responsibility for Armed Forces accommodation which includes married quarters and barracks for Army, Navy and Air force personnel. For further information please visit the Ministry of Defence Housing Directorate website.
All TV equipment and aerial systems that have been provided and installed by the MOD in service quarters and training locations will need to be checked before switchover.
Those responsible for TV equipment in Mess Halls or recreation areas which have been provided through regimental funds or charitable donations, will need to undertake the necessary works to ensure that it will continue to function after switchover. This may require working with the DHE (Defence Housing Executive) to ensure that, if served by a communal aerial system, this is checked, upgraded or replaced, as appropriate and a digital box fitted to convert the digital signals.
