Uniformed services

Barracks and service quarters

The Ministry of Defence has responsibility for Armed Forces accommodation, which includes married quarters and barracks for Army, Navy and Air force personnel. For further information please visit the Defence Housing Executive.

All TV equipment and aerial systems that have been provided and installed by the MOD in service quarters and training locations will need to be checked before switchover.

TV equipment in Mess Halls or recreation areas may have been provided through regimental funds or charitable donations. Those responsible for this equipment will need to undertake the necessary works to ensure that it will continue to function after switchover. This may require working with the Defence Housing Executive to ensure that, if served by a communal aerial system, the system is checked, upgraded or replaced as appropriate, and a digital box fitted.

Prisons and secure accommodation

The Ministry of Justice is responsible for the provision and upgrade of TV services in prisons.

The Home Office is responsibility for TV services in secure accommodation, detention centres, and bail hostels.
