I am the property manager for a commercial property, what does the switchover mean for me?
Wherever TV equipment is being used, it will need to be checked to make sure it can receive a digital TV signal.
This applies to commercial as well as residential property. Property managers for shops, offices, leisure facilities, pubs, clubs, airports, and train, bus and coach stations will need to consider the infrastructure that supports their TV equipment, in conjunction with the freeholder/ leaseholder/ property manager.
Modern shops and office buildings that have been cabled for computer systems will generally have the infrastructure and capacity to support digital TV services through the communal aerial.
As with residential properties, commercial buildings that have communal aerials systems that are over 20 years may need to be upgraded. It is advised that any system over 10 years old should be checked by a qualified aerial installer well in advance of switchover.
