Basic re-tuning
Basic re-tuning is quick and easy and needs to be done at each stage of switchover or on any other occasion you find you are missing channels.
Manual re-tuning
If you have missing channels after having done a basic re-tune, or the wrong regional services, you may need to do a manual re-tune to select where services appear on the channel list (EPG). You can do this using the instructions below.
Your manual re-tune instructions for today
These instructions assume you are using the Caradon Hill transmitter. If you know you get your signal from a different transmitter, click here.

- Using your remote control, press the 'menu' button.
- Select the 'set up' or 'installation' option. If you see picture icons, select the tool box, satellite dish or spanner.
- Select 'manual re-tune' or 'manual search'.
- If you are prompted for a code, try 0000 or 1234.
- For Group 1 (BBC Services) type in 28 where it asks for a 'channel' number (frequency) and press OK.
- Repeat steps 1-5 using the different numbers next to each "Group"
(a group is a bundle of TV services), to complete the manual re-tune.
Group 2: 25, Group 3: 21, Group 4: 24, Group 5: 27, Group HD: 22 - Then press 'menu' or 'exit' to finish.
- NB: These instructions should work for most Freeview TVs or boxes, but they differ, and you may have to speak to your manufacturer for help.
Please note, further re-tuning will be required (including at each stage of the digital switchover) and the channel numbers (frequencies) could change. Look at the full table below for further re-tune dates.
