Recorders

If you enjoy recording and watching videos and DVDs you should consider your existing recording equipment:

Video and DVD recorders

If you currently own a video or DVD recorder, it will continue to record and playback videos or DVDs, however, it won’t allow you to watch one channel and record another at the same time.

If you choose not to invest in digital recording equipment, you can convert your existing video or DVD recorder by using an additional digital box.

VideoPlus can still be used to set recording start and finish times if you connect a digital box to your existing TV and VideoPlus recorder using a SCART cable.

Using Video Plus+ after digital switchover

Digital TV Recorders

The simplest way to record after switchover is to consider replacing your video or analogue DVD recorder with a digital TV recorder like Sky+ or Freeview+. If you get a digital recorder with a twin tuner it will also convert your TV to digital. Digital TV recorders have features that let you:

  • Pause and Rewind live TV
  • Record at the press of a button
  • Record a whole series at once

For more information on recording with digital TV read our helpful leaflet. For independent advice on the right digital TV recorder to buy check Ricability.
