You don’t need to replace your existing TV unless you want to, as any TV set can be converted with a digital box. After switchover, video and DVD recorders will still play back and record. However, most won’t be able to record one channel while you’re watching another. To do this, the simplest solution is to upgrade to a digital recorder (like Freeview Playback or Sky+).

Look for the digital tick

If you decide to buy a new TV or recording equipment, look for the digital tick logo. retailerIt means the product is designed to work before, during and after switchover. Some high definition (HD) TVs may not be digital-ready – look for the digital tick logo to find a digital-ready model. If you are not sure if your HD TV is digital-ready, contact the manufacturer.
