If you live on the edge of the core TV region (shown by dotted shading on the map) you may be part of an adjacent region's switchover. This map is indicative because broadcast signals do not have precise boundaries.

Why is Wales switching so far ahead of other regions?

Switchover is a complicated process, and needs to be done in stages so that everyone in the UK will be ready for it. The Wales TV region will be one of the first because it has minimal signal interference with other countries, such as France, who are also switching over to digital. Welsh viewers will be among the first to receive the benefits of the digital switchover.

What are the benefits?

Currently only six out of ten households in the Wales region can get digital reception through their aerial. After switchover almost everyone will be able to enjoy the benefits of digital TV.
