What is Wight Cable?

Wightcable is a Telecommunications Company located in Cowes on the Isle of Wight - the only provider of Broadband, Telephone and Cable TV on the island.

How much does it cost?

The service starts from £1 per week and telephone lines for £10 per month. The WiMax service provides Broadband, 2 telephone lines and all calls Free to Local & National numbers, for £19 per month.

What equipment do I need?

• On-net - Modems will be provided free of charge. If you wish to use a Router you will need to purchase a cable router.
• WiMax - Modem will be provided free of charge. If you wish to use a Router you will need to purchase a VoIP Router.
• Connect - You will need to purchase a modem with router built in (ADSL Router)

How is Wight Cable installed?

• On-net – Cable is pulled through ducting in the road, buried through garden or clipped to wall/fence. Then hardwired from External termination box to TV, Telephone and Broadband points in the house.
• WiMax – External Aerial erected with hardwire running to internal Telephone / Broadband point.
• Connect – Provided through existing BT Telephone line.

How many channels will I get?

Over 140 channels and digital radio stations.

Does Wight Cable offer an HDTV service?

Wightcable is currently testing HDTV and hope to be releasing this in the very near future.

What other services does Wight Cable offer?

Free Email accounts, Web hosting space, IT Support, Management of Telephone Systems, Broadcasting of Television channels (currently Event TV – a Cowes week limited production).
