Management team

David Scott, Chief Executive

David Scott is Chief Executive of Digital UK. He took up the role on February 1, 2008, having previously represented Channel 4 on the board of Digital UK.

Prior to this, David worked for the broadcaster in several roles for more than 25 years and was a member of the original management team which launched the channel in 1982. He went on to become Director of Finance, Managing Director, Deputy Chief Executive and Acting Chief Executive.

In 2006, David was awarded a CBE for services to broadcasting.

Barry Cox, Chairman

Barry was elected chairman of Digital UK in April 2005. He previously worked as a journalist on the Scotsman, the Sunday Telegraph, Granada�s World in Action and at LWT, where he became Controller of Features & Current Affairs, and then Director of Corporate Affairs.

He was Director of the ITV Association between 1995 and 1998, and for seven years was Deputy Chairman of Channel 4. He is also a consultant with ITN.

Barry was chairman of the Digital TV Stakeholders Group between 2002 and 2004, and News International Visiting Professor of Broadcast Media at Oxford University in 2003.

Mike Hughes, Broadcast Director

Mike was Deputy Group Chief Executive at Anglia Television until 1994, following which he has been closely involved in the development of DTT and the planning and implementation of digital Switchover.

Alex Pumfrey, Programme Director

Alex is Programme Director at Digital UK. She previously worked in Strategy at Channel 4 on issues including switchover and the impact of new digital technologies.
